Antibacterial Properties
In a study published in "Microbios", scientists observed at the effect of spearmint on various types of pathogenic bacteria, like E. coli and salmonella.It was found that spearmint inhibited the growth of pathogenic bacteria. The scientists concluded spearmint has an antibacterial effect. This is the reason spearmint is commonly used in soaps, mouthwashes, and other products for cleaning.
